CCHA is a learning organisation dedicated to providing excellent customer service and maintaining high standards across our homes and commercial properties, including community halls. The postholder will oversee our small market, submarket rent, and commercial portfolio, ensuring it is well-managed, compliant, and positioned for growth. The ideal candidate should prioritise a customer-first approach and be adaptable to serving a diverse clientele, including residential tenants, leaseholders, LCHO customers and commercial renters.

This role leads core areas of work:

  • Overseeing the commercial property strategy and collaborating with the communities team to deliver the community centre strategy
  • Developing a market and submarket rent strategy and refining related policies
  • Managing the residential portfolio, including allocations, lettings, arrears, repairs, income reviews, and tenancy processes
  • Managing the commercial portfolio with lettings agents to ensure proper rental values, compliance, safety checks, and positive relationships
  • Overseeing administration for Low Cost Home Ownership (LCHO) properties, from first-time buy to reselling cycles
  • Managing the day-to-day operations and compliance of the Loudoun centre, including responding to tenant queries

As Commercial Manager, you will deliver a broad range of services to a diverse customer base while ensuring our products continue to grow appropriately across new and existing schemes. You will act as the key contact for tenants and owners, building strong, trust-based relationships through professionalism, courtesy and sound knowledge of their properties. You will oversee the effective management of leaseholders, market-rate units, LCHO properties, rent collection, voids, statutory compliance, maintenance, tenant engagement, and performance reporting across the commercial and community halls portfolio. This role is central to maintaining strong operational controls, safeguarding asset value, and driving improvements in service delivery, portfolio management and community outcomes.

In this role, you’ll be the central connector for our growing commercial, sub-market, market-rent and LCHO portfolio. You’ll sit within the Housing and Communities Directorate, but your work will cut across the whole organisation—partnering with repairs, asset management, customer experience and development teams to make sure services are delivered right first time and reflect what customers genuinely need. You’ll use insight, data, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for improvement and turn them into practical, coordinated changes that enhance performance. By building strong relationships both internally and externally, you’ll help us respond confidently to a diverse and evolving customer base, ensuring that every interaction reflects our caring landlord approach.

As a senior manager, you’ll bring essential leadership to the directorate. You’ll provide clear, values-based guidance, question current processes where necessary, and foster a coordinated approach across teams. You will be responsible for delivering regular reports on performance, finances, and satisfaction to the Corporate Leadership Team, the Board, and the PACE Committee, ensuring leadership has the insights required to make strategic decisions. You’ll also take the lead on specialist or high-risk projects—such as new product development or portfolio expansion—using your expertise to coach colleagues, strengthen culture and embed consistent standards. Your work will help shape how this area grows and how we deliver high-quality homes and services that customers truly value.

Ultimately, you’ll be the person who pulls the pieces together: aligning teams, improving services, championing customers and helping CCHA deliver a confident, well-managed and future-focused offer across a varied and expanding portfolio.

Our Shared Values At CCHA, values and diverse thinking are just as sought after as technical skills and qualifications. Our values are embedded throughout the organisation. They set out how we work together and how decisions are made. Here at CCHA we live our values by being: Caring | Respectful | Trusting and Trustworthy | Honest | Brave | Yourself
