An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Streetworks Technician within the Streetworks team of the Highways Technical Services Section. The successful candidate will hold Streetworks Accreditation or be willing to attain it within 12 months of appointment and have knowledge of the New Roads and Streetworks Act.
You will provide an effective, efficient, responsive and high quality Streetworks Services and assist in ensuring that the Authority's duties under the New Roads and Streetworks Act are properly discharged. This includes being responsible for the receipt and monitoring of incoming works from statutory undertakers and internal Council departments. In addition, you will assist the Streetworks Engineer in the co-ordination of formal notices received from statutory undertakers and private individuals.
This is a permanent full-time position based at the Council’s newly constructed, modern headquarters in the centre of Pontypridd, benefiting from the services and facilities of the town centre, nearby public parking, and excellent public transport links to Cardiff and the surrounding Valleys area. A hybrid working arrangement is in place with staff able to work from both home and the office, which is to continue in the long term.
Employment hours are 37 hours a week, under the flexible working hours scheme, and our generous annual leave allowance will provide you with 26 days holiday each year increasing to 31 upon 5 years of completed service (in addition to 8 public holidays).
