RCT Strategic Projects delivers a diverse portfolio of civil engineering schemes across Rhondda Cynon Taf, including highway infrastructure, transportation improvements, land reclamation, drainage, and flood risk management. We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Project Manager to join our team and support the delivery of a wide range of exciting and challenging projects — from small local improvements to major infrastructure schemes.
The successful candidate will assist in the management and delivery of projects through all stages of development, supporting client functions from initial feasibility and consultant procurement through to contractor appointment, construction, and project completion. Working closely with Project Managers and technical specialists, you will help ensure projects are delivered on programme, within budget, and to a high standard.
You will be joining a supportive, collaborative team that values openness, professional integrity, and shared problem solving. We work closely with colleagues across the Council, external partners, and local communities, and we take pride in delivering projects that make a tangible difference across RCT. This is a permanent, full-time role based on a 37-hour working week under the Council's Flexible Working Hours Scheme. The post offers a hybrid working arrangement, with time split between our Pontypridd office and working from home. You will be provided with a laptop to enable hybrid working.
Benefits include: 26 days annual leave (rising to 31 days after 5 years' service) and access to the Local Government Pension Scheme.
