  • Cardiff Bus is looking for a

Payroll and Pensions Administrator to join our Finance Team. This is a rare opportunity to join our friendly administrative team as we continue to develop and improve the way we work.

We're looking for someone who enjoys working with accuracy, takes pride in delivering an excellent payroll service, and wants to be part of a team that's embracing positive change

The Role

To process accurate and timely weekly and monthly payrolls for all Company employees and administer pension-related activities, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.

This is a full-time permanent position working 37 hours a week.

Salary - £30,000 per annum

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process weekly and monthly payrolls.
  • Process payroll payments through BACS.
  • Calculate, reconcile and submit statutory and voluntary deductions to third parties.
  • Administer pension schedules and payments, liaising with the Company's Pension Administrators.
  • Respond to payroll queries from employees and external organisations, including mortgage references and Child Support Agency (CSA) requests.
  • Produce payroll reports and maintain accurate payroll records.
  • Ensure payroll activities comply with Company policies and relevant legislation.
  • Promote a positive health and safety culture and comply with Company health and safety procedures.
  • Provide administrative support and undertake other reasonable duties as required by the Payroll/Finance Manager.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Previous payroll experience is desirable.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Competent with IT systems such as Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
