We are seeking a talented and creative Graphic Designer (Marketing & UI/UX Focus) to join our team on a special project focused on the design and development of a Geocaching mobile application for Newport Libraries. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing visually compelling designs that align with our brand identity and support marketing, sales, and digital project objectives across multiple initiatives.
This role offers the opportunity to work on a broad range of deliverables, including branding, digital marketing assets, website design, and UI/UX work. The ideal applicant will combine strong digital design expertise with a marketing-aware mindset, an understanding of AI-assisted workflows, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement branding concepts across digital and marketing platforms
- Design engaging graphics for websites, social media, marketing campaigns, and digital materials
- Support UI/UX design activities, including wireframes and visual layouts, primarily using Figma
- Contribute design and visual input to the Geocaching app for Newport Libraries, working closely with product and development teams
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and development teams to create visual assets that support campaign, business, and project objectives
- Produce high-quality designs using industry-standard design tools
- Contribute to website and digital product design where required
- Ensure brand consistency and visual quality across all outputs
- Manage multiple design tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines
- Present design concepts clearly to internal stakeholders and project teams
- Portfolio demonstrating work in branding, digital design, and marketing assets
- User Research & Logic: Experience conducting user research and translating insights into actionable user flows and design decisions
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro)
- Understanding of AI tools and workflows, with the ability to use AI to support ideation, asset creation, optimisation, or efficiency improvements
- Solid understanding of digital design principles and UI/UX design
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality design output
- Experience using Figma, Canva, and CapCut
- Exposure to UI/UX design workflows and best practices
- Experience working alongside web or product development teams
- Experience designing sales enablement materials (pitch decks, proposals, case studies, brochures)
- Experience creating assets for email marketing, paid media, and social advertising
- Basic understanding of web design constraints and responsive layouts
- Familiarity with brand positioning and visual storytelling for commercial audiences
- Awareness of analytics and performance metrics to inform design improvements
- Ability to design landing pages and campaign visuals optimised for lead capture
- Understanding of marketing funnels, user journeys, and conversion-focused design
