Acorns Children's Hospice is looking for a Community Partnership Worker for our Worcester hospice to develop a peer support programme and youth leadership programme, with the aim to increase grief literacy.

As a Community Partnership Worker, you will:

  • Map community assets across Acorns regions.
  • Be responsible for the creation of resources covering topics which matter most to young people.
  • Facilitate workshops and focus groups to promote a public health approach to palliative and end‑of‑life care.
  • Identify external funding opportunities through collaborative partnerships.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with our communities.

As an employee you will be a Duty Bearer for Children’s Rights and support all children to be Rights Holders.

Responsibilities

  • Experience in the development of community partnerships.
  • Able to engage and collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of asset‑based community development/compassionate communities principles and practices.
  • Competent IT skills.
  • Travel independently across the region.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.
  • Will be subject to an enhanced DBS check for children and provide two satisfactory references.
  • Provide evidence of immunisation against specific diseases or confirm willingness to receive necessary vaccinations.
  • Knowledge of resources and services available within the community.

Required

  • Disclosure and Barring Service Check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.
