Overview
We are looking for a qualified Bank Chef to work part‑time at Barchester homes.
The role offers flexible hours, a focus on fresh seasonal food, and an opportunity to create nutrition‑balanced menus in a people‑centred environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavoursome and well‑balanced menus.
- Adapt menus to meet individual resident needs.
- Manage the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence.
- Prepare fresh produce and deliver high‑quality, wholesome dishes at the highest standards.
- Create a warm, efficient and enjoyable working environment.
- Work within the kitchen budget.
- Complete regular audits and maintain HACCP compliance.
- Manage stock control and assist in leading and motivating the kitchen team.
Qualifications
- Hold City & Guilds, NVQ, SVQ, or equivalent qualifications.
- Experience in leading and inspiring a kitchen team.
- Good understanding of nutrition and resident dietary requirements.
- Experience with fresh seasonal food.
- Knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards.
- Personable and warm approach with a genuine interest in resident wellbeing.
