Overview
Akari Care is dedicated to providing exceptional and personalised care for the elderly across its network of award‑winning homes. We are looking for a Deputy Manager who is passionate about making a positive impact on older people’s lives and who will work closely with the Home Manager and multidisciplinary teams to ensure the smooth, efficient running of the home.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support the Home Manager in all aspects of daily operations.
- Ensure high‑quality nursing and residential care is delivered to all residents.
- Manage and maintain budgetary and financial controls.
- Oversee human resources functions, including staffing, training, and performance management.
- Develop and implement marketing initiatives to promote the home.
- Serve as a role model for the team, providing coaching, guidance and professional development opportunities.
- Respond to complex emergencies such as serious accidents or infectious disease outbreaks, ensuring staff adhere to high standards of care.
- Maintain a positive, engaging and professional environment for residents, staff and visitors.
Qualifications
- Minimum Level4 NVQ in Health and Social Care.
- Experience working within the healthcare sector.
- Management or leadership experience (essential). Qualification in this area is desirable.
- Current NMC certificate with an active PIN.
- Demonstrated caring nature and the ability to offer a personal approach to each individual.
- Flexible and adaptable to change, including short‑notice adjustments.
- Ability to work well under pressure without negatively affecting those around you.
- Warm, approachable and engaged persona.
- Respectful of all, treating others as you would expect to be treated.
- Resilient and adaptable to differing needs of residents and colleagues.
