Position Overview
We are looking for a Salaried GP to join our friendly practice in Westhoughton for 6‑7 sessions per week. Salary negotiable.
About the Practice
Our practice serves 7,153 patients using the Systm One computer system.
We have a team that includes 2 GP partners, 1 Salaried GP, 1 advanced nurse practitioner, 1 practice nurse, 1 nursing associate, 1 HCA and admin support, plus extended staff such as MSK, MH practitioners, clinical pharmacists, visiting clinicians, social prescribers and health improvement practitioners.
We are a training practice currently hosting ST2 and FY1 doctors and trainee nurses.
Visiting clinicians have reduced home‑visit requests for GPs.
The practice holds a Good CQC rating and Good Qof Achievement and is part of the Westhoughton PCN (Unsworth Group Practice and Stable Fold Surgery).
- Job Responsibilities
- Work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team to deliver medical services to patients registered with the practice.
- Support the day‑to‑day provision of primary care services and contribute to the development of services to meet the needs of the practice population.
- Respond to medical problems presented by patients, including history taking, examination, diagnosis, investigation, treatment and referral where appropriate.
- Provide health promotion and preventative health care and advice.
- Perform domiciliary visits as appropriate.
- Serve as duty doctor one day per week; review all medical requests and assign them appropriately through the triage system.
- Maintain patients’ clinical records and provide medical reports for other agencies.
- Attend primary health care team meetings and other meetings as necessary.
- Carry out all necessary clinically related administrative and non‑clinical duties needed for the delivery of medical services.
- Work toward meeting targets set out in the GMS contract and other nationally and locally agreed guidance.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should have clinical experience in general practice and be familiar with record keeping on a computerised clinical records system.
Candidates should include details of posts held during their career to date, along with any additional qualifications relevant to general practice.
