The predicted salary is between 12 - 15 £ per hour.

We are looking for a confident Weekend Cook with a passion for delivering outstanding care.You will be working 16 hours a week, making a positive difference to the lives of the people in our care.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook and serve nutritional, balanced and appetising meals for patients, staff and visitors.
  • Liaise with nursing colleagues to meet patients’ nutritional and dietary needs.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen, service areas and dining room.
  • Supervise kitchen staff when deputising for the Head Chef.
  • Maintain personal hygiene to comply with Cygnet standards and food hygiene regulations.
  • Handle, maintain and store kitchen equipment in accordance with Cygnet procedures.
  • Use chemicals in line with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations.

Qualifications

  • A skilled chef, preferably with experience in the care sector.
  • Holder of a basic food hygiene certificate with good personal hygiene standards.
  • Polite and professional, with a positive attitude towards internal and external guests at all times.
  • Excellent communicator able to liaise with people at all levels.
  • Ability to work on one’s own initiative, as part of a team and under guidance.
