Here at St. Albans City Hospital (SACH) Theatres we are looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic, and dynamic theatre practitioners to join our friendly, professional multi-disciplinary team. We offer rotational opportunities for staff in order for them to develop and/or maintain their skills., We welcome both Registered Nurses and ODPs alike. Applicants will need to possess good interpersonal skills in order to work effectively within the existing theatre teams whilst also having the ability to work under their own initiative. Organising, preparing of anaesthetic room and relevant equipment pertinent to the operative list/schedule. Assist the anaesthetist in the safe administration of an anaesthetic. Ensure that they are competent in airway management, which should include periodical updating within the anaesthetic arena. Participate in the cardiac arrest team when available (SACH site only). Maintenance and support of specialist equipment. Have relevant skills in the anaesthetic care needs of the patient both adult and paediatrics. Demonstrate clear leadership qualities in order to perform day to day managerial tasks, including allocation of staff etc., SACH is the Surgical Centre for elective surgery and comprises of 8 theatres with the main specialities including Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, General, Urology, Gynaecology, ENT, Pain and Breast surgery. You will be fully supported upon joining WHTH and each new starter will be assigned a buddy to support them through a structured induction package. This includes a customised supernumerary period for all new starters which allows you to work and learn alongside experienced practitioners who will support you. There is a multitude of learning, training and development opportunities within WHTH. Supporting your continuous professional development is important to us. - Working towards a degree
- ILS/ALS.
- Post-registration education programme related to speciality, Up to date knowledge of relevant political and professional issues in health care.
- Understanding of principles of budget management, Considerable experience within the speciality
- Teaching and facilitating experience
- Commitment to clinical effectiveness and evidence based care
- Experience as a Band 5
- Knowledge of Clinical Governance & Benchmarking
- Skills and ability,
- Ability to articulate a vision for theatre practitioners
- Ability to command the confidence of colleagues
- Effective team working and facilitation skills with an ability to work autonomously as appropriate
- Negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to write clear, concise and relevant reports, communication orally and in written form with, Computer literate
- Experience of evaluating clinical practice using
- Research and/or audit techniques.
