Work as part of a team both on the ward as a band 6 Sister / Charge Nurse, but also with other multidisciplinary colleagues to ensure a seamless delivery of service.
Co-ordinate the ward to maintain flow and the patients journey. Assess the care needs of the patients and their families. Support the team to develop, implement & evaluate the care to a high standard, whilst demonstrating a compassionate nature and maintaining patients dignity.
Participate as a skilled member of the multi-disciplinary team. Act as clinical advisor on nursing issues to ensure a high-standard of care is maintained utilising evidence-based practice. Participate in direct care and facilitate sound discharge planning.

We are looking for an experienced, motivated and forward-thinking senior nurse who is keen to embrace the challenge acute nursing brings. This post will provide you great job satisfaction, not only will you be working in an innovative dedicated friendly team on our 16 bedded ward within Totnes Community Hospital. You will have a voice and we always actively welcome new ideas, valuing staff and opinions. Achieving and being part of facilitating a patient's wishes to happen is a very rewarding part of the role. This not only applies to patients who are being rehabilitated back to their homes but also for those who are on an end of life pathway or are still actively being treated within a sub-acute environment.
Please note: Priority will be given to applicants with recognised 'Priority' or 'At Risk' status, including NHS staff identified across Devon.
