This post is a fantastic leadership opportunity to shape the future of dietetic services in Surrey.
Working across organisational boundaries, you will inspire and develop creative teams to deliver innovative services that meet the needs of our local population.
You will be responsible for around forty dietitians and services spanning across adults, paediatrics, acute and community settings with specialities including gastroenterology, diabetes and bariatrics.
Working closely with other professions, you will be an integral part of the therapies senior leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, deliver and evaluate the provision of dietetic services in medical, surgical, critical care inpatients, outpatients and community settings.
- Ensure effective high‑quality delivery of services within the Trust.
- Recruit, retain high quality staff and manage teams with the appropriate skills and experience.
- Ensure all staff have personal development reviews and that their development needs are identified and addressed.
- Promote clinical governance through the implementation of high standards of clinical practice, professional development of staff through training and education, and the management of clinical risk.
- Play a key role in the therapy management team for issues affecting the services and teams.
- Establish and develop the strategic direction and potential of Therapy Services within the Trust.
- Represent therapy services at a range of forums, deputising for the Associate Director of Therapies as required.
- Manage budgets for allocated services ensuring efficient and effective use of resources and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience of leading transformation projects.
- Experience of developing care pathways and protocols and of developing and implementing policies and procedures.
- Experience of successfully leading a team or services through service change and redesign with a focus on productivity and efficiency.
- Flexible and adaptable approach.
- Experience of managing challenging situations and challenging relationships.
- Resilient and proven ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Ability to take the strategic view whilst giving attention to getting details correct.
