St Mark's Hospital is looking to recruit a stoma and pouch care lead nurse to join their established team of stoma and pouch care team. The post holder will have responsibility for the daily operational management of the stoma and pouch care services alongside the nurse consultant, they will provide long term management and support to patients with stomas and an ileoanal pouch, and any related stoma care concerns the patient may encounter. This specific care will be provided through comprehensive clinical skills, information, advice and support to patients undergoing pouch/ stoma forming surgery in addition to the continued development and management of Nurse Led Clinics and the telephone and email advice lines., The post holder will be based at St Mark's Hospital, with principal sites at Central Middlesex Hospital and Northwick Park Hospital. There will also be a requirement to provide services at Ealing Hospital site and community cover as necessary. The post holder will be responsible for the strategic management and ongoing development of the specialist stoma and pouch care service across these hospital sites and the associated community settings. The post holder will hold managerial responsibility for the stoma and pouch care team and will work collaboratively with the Nurse Consultant, the wider stoma and pouch care team, and multidisciplinary colleagues across the Trust to enhance clinical outcomes for patients undergoing stoma and pouch-forming surgery. They will function as a senior expert practitioner, providing specialist advice and prescribing stoma-related products to facilitate a seamless transition of care from secondary to primary services. The delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care will be underpinned by engagement in research, audit, and educational initiatives. The post holder will provide comprehensive, long-term management and support for patients with a stoma, pouch or fistula, utilising advanced clinical expertise. Care will be delivered through nurse-led clinics, as well as via telephone and email advisory services, ensuring accessible and responsive support., To view the main responsibility, please see the attached the Job Description and Person Specification.,

  • NMC PIN and degree qualification
    More than 5 years experience in stoma and pouch care and stoma care modules including siting course, More than 5 years experience as a specialist nurse in stoma and pouch care
  • Experience in leadership and management
