This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join a forward thinking and dynamic integrated safeguarding team at an acute trust as the Specialist Safeguarding Children Professional. Working with the Named Professional for Safeguarding Children, the post holder will collaborate with members of the trusts safeguarding team, internal divisions and wider multi - agency partners to support with the fulfilment of the trust's statutory duties. We are a dedicated Integrated Safeguarding team looking for a dynamic, passionate Safeguarding Professional to join our safeguarding team. This is a specialist role which involves covering all aspects of safeguarding children across our organisation and providing advice and support., The successful practitioner will work with our statutory agency partners to support the safeguarding agenda. This includes attendance at multi - agency meetings such as Child Protection Conferences, Core Group Meetings, Strategy Discussions, Professional meetings, and Discharge Planning Meetings as required. The post holder will have the ability to apply policies, standards, and legislations to support every day practice and ensure practice is in line with local and national policy and regulatory and legislative requirements. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that staff are familiar with our safeguarding policies, develop further policy and procedures and ensure that these are followed once potential or actual concerns are identified. The role is central to the development and delivery of Safeguarding Children training and Safeguarding Supervision. The role includes undertaking audit projects, implementing findings to improve provision of a responsive safeguarding service for the Trust., The successful applicant will provide support to the Named Nurse for Safeguarding and other safeguarding team members in both maternity and adult services. The aim of the role is to provide support in providing health information for strategy meetings, reviewing referrals made to Childrens social care, responding to Trust wide safeguarding queries, undertaking safeguarding audits and supporting staff in all ward and department areas when there are safeguarding concerns identified.   • Current professional registration with recognised body such as NMC/HCPC e.g Registered Nurse/Midwife, Social Worker, Allied Health Professional
  • Experience of working within a role that involves Safeguarding Children post registration.
  • Recent Level 3 Safeguarding training, Master's degree or equivalent in relevant area.
  • Accredited teaching or training qualification.
  • Recognised further qualifications in Safeguarding., Currently practicing in a professional role that includes a high level of children's safeguarding as significant part of the portfolio.
  • Experience of working with children and families
  • Experience of managing safeguarding concerns in a health and/or social care setting
  • Experience of providing specialist safeguarding advice to other professionals, Experience of undertaking audits.
  • Experience of Safeguarding partnership working.
  • Experience of Policy and Procedure development
  • Experience of writing reports for governance forums
