Job Summary
Join The Avalon Centre in Swindon as a Bank Maintenance Assistant.
You will play a key role in maintaining a safe, well‑presented environment for a vulnerable population.
After a two‑week paid induction you will have access to available shifts – there is no minimum required hours, but regular work is recommended to keep induction knowledge fresh.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that the service, buildings, facilities and equipment are maintained and fit for purpose.
- Repair faults and undertake planned preventive maintenance, ensuring safety for service users, staff and visitors.
- Assist in all decorating, building repair, and maintenance tasks.
- Liaise with contractors, completing paperwork, tool checks and supporting their on‑site work.
- Report all faults and defects to management.
- Participate in a one‑week on‑call rota for emergency maintenance.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Previous experience in a maintenance role – required.
\l • Able to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Have good DIY skills and a commitment to safety.
- Willingness to attend training sessions, staff meetings and the on‑call rota.
- Compliance with all systems and procedures.
- All candidates will be subject to a DBS disclosure.
