An experienced minor ops trained Health Care Assistant working in conjunction with other health care professionals to assist in Vasectomy procedures for patients in the primary care setting. The post holder will be trained to assist in minor operations procedures and deliver a high standard of patient care as a Clinical employee, using clinical skill, and a broad and in-depth theoretical knowledge base.Main duties of the job Manage own clinical workload, responding effectively to identified patient health need Assist in Vasectomy procedures Provide patient counselling sessions and advice ahead of vasectomy procedure about treatments Maintain minor operations training and knowledge of latest guidelines local and national guidance related to respiratory management,
- Participate in regular MDT meetings and clinical supervision as required
- Promote evidence-based practice using the latest research-based guidelines and participate in practice-based research where appropriate.
- Provide a holistic service to patients, their families and carers, developing, where appropriate, an on-going plan of care/support, which includes advice on prevention and self-care.
- Promote health and well-being using health promotion, health education and therapeutic communication skills.
- Record contemporaneous, accurate consultation data in patients records in accordance with the latest NMC guidance and other pertinent standards.

Previous primary care experience and knowledge of the working of general practice - Clinically competent in undertaking patient assessments and counselling
- Change-management skills and ability to support patients to change lifestyle, Change-management skills and experience of leading a team initiative or change.
- Motivational interviewing, Awareness of the structure and working of a primary care service
- Knowledge and understanding of the national and local health priorities
- Awareness of the legal and ethical framework surrounding autonomous practice
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team, Willingness to undertake training as required.
- Work within a multicultural environment
- Awareness of clinical governance issues in primary care
- Experience of using EMIS, Certificate in Healthcare Support Services
- Level 3 Diploma in Healthcare Support
