Overview
We are looking to appoint a Specialty Doctor to cover a maternity leave period in the Paediatrics department at Chesterfield Royal Hospital.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to services in Acute Paediatrics and Level 2 Neonates.
- Participate in the General Paediatric and Neonatal out of hours rota.
- Meet legislative requirements and improve work intensity during out of hours.
- Assist with Paediatric Assessment Unit and Level 2 neonatal unit activities.
- Teach clinical skills and support CPD and audit projects.
- Work within multidisciplinary teams and manage clinical teams.
Qualifications and Experience
- MRCPCH or equivalent.
- Valid provider status in APLS and NLS.
- Full GMC registration with Licence to Practise.
- Completed at least four years’ full-time postgraduate training (or equivalent) with at least two years in a relevant specialty training programme.
- Experience in paediatric assessment unit and level 2 neonatal unit.
- Experience in Community Paediatrics (welcome).
- Teaching experience and ability to teach clinical skills.
- Experience with CPD, quality improvement/audit projects and demonstrated implementation of change.
- Additional sub‑specialty paediatric experience (preferred).
- Experience in NHS management and sound knowledge of NHS structures and systems.
- Experience using online patient record systems.
- Level 3 safeguarding competency.
- Good command of spoken and written English.
- Basic IT skills and organisational ability.
