Consultant Psychiatrist – Intellectual Disability (ID) CAMHS

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Consultant Psychiatrist with experience in Intellectual Disability (ID) or Neurodiversity, as part of our comprehensive Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) in North Derbyshire.

Qualifications

  • MBCh B or equivalent
  • CCT in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
  • MRCPsych or equivalent qualification
  • Full registration with the GMC, licence to practise
  • Entry on the GMC specialist Register within six months of receipt of CCT
  • S12 Approval
  • Experience working with young people and their families/carers
  • Quality/audit project experience
  • Good knowledge of child and adolescent psychiatry and wide medical knowledge
  • Clinical supervision experience or skills
  • Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients
  • Ability to undertake training/mentoring of clinical staff and enthusiasm for education

Responsibilities

  • Provide independent clinical care for young people with intellectual disability and related neurodiversity conditions
  • Deliver training and mentoring to clinical staff
  • Lead and participate in quality and audit projects within CAMHS
  • Work collaboratively with families, carers and multidisciplinary teams
  • Engage in clinical supervision and continuous professional development
