Consultant Psychiatrist – CAMHS Service (North Derbyshire)
We are seeking an enthusiastic Consultant Psychiatrist to join our comprehensive CAMHS Service.
The role is based across two sites – Chesterfield and Buxton – or solely in Buxton, depending on the successful candidate’s preference.
The successful applicant will provide clinical leadership, work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, and support the development and mentoring of clinical staff.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialist clinical care for children and adolescents within the CAMHS pathway.
- Lead on clinical governance, quality improvement and audit projects.
- Deliver training and mentorship to junior staff and other clinical team members.
- Act as a clinical lead for designated Care Units.
- Engage with families and carers to support effective treatment plans.
Qualifications
- MBCh B or equivalent medical qualification.
- MRCPsych or equivalent qualification.
- CCT in child and adolescent psychiatry.
- Full registration with the GMC and a licence to practise (or within 6 months of interview).
- Experience working with young people and their families/carers.
- Strong knowledge of child and adolescent psychiatry and a broad medical knowledge base.
- Experience with quality/audit projects.
- Enthusiasm for training, mentoring and education of clinical staff.
Benefits
£10,000 added to the basic salary upon commencement and a further £10,000 after 2 years in post.
An additional Shared Parking Allowance (SPA) beyond the usual allocation is provided to support Care Unit responsibilities.
