Psychological Therapist

We are seeking a highly motivated Clinical Psychologist or Psychological Therapist to join our Intensive Home Treatment Team (IHTT) at Airedale Centre for Mental Health. You will be passionate about supporting people experiencing acute mental health crisis, as well as their carers & support networks. The successful candidate will lead the development of psychological therapies within the team, supporting the Care Closer to Home agenda & national guidance for psychological therapies in acute services. You will promote psychologically informed care through formulation-based approaches to care planning & risk management. As part of a supportive network of psychologists, psychological therapists & psychotherapists working across Acute Community Services, you will contribute to improving access to trauma-informed & neuroaffirmative care and reducing health inequalities across Bradford & Craven. Working closely with multidisciplinary colleagues, you will provide reflective practice, consultation & clinical supervision, while helping strengthen co-production with Involvement Workers & Experts by Experience. You will deliver a range of adapted, time-limited, evidence-informed interventions. Previous training or experience in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) or Solution Focused Therapy (SFT) would be advantageous. The role includes providing specialist advice & consultation to staff supporting people in mental health crisis.,

• Provide specialist evidence based psychological assessment, formulation & therapy, making autonomous clinical decisions about own professional practice
• Provide clinical leadership, supervision, consultation and advice on psychological therapies
• Provide clinical consultation and advice to healthcare professionals across all localities.
• Support adherence to relevant NICE guidance and clinical governance arrangements.
• To ensure the clinical effectiveness of own practice and of service functioning by undertaking research and development activities relevant to the service area.

• Doctorate level training in clinical or applied psychology, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical, psychometrics, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology as accredited by the BPS, or a BPS Statement of Equivalence. OR Specialist post graduate training to masters level or equivalent in a psychotherapeutic modality - including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, Systemic Therapy AND Accreditation from a recognised Psychological Therapy body e.g. BABCP, BACP, UKCP, HCPC via: (a) Professional route; requiring previous mental health qualification e.g. Clin. Psych., RMN, Dip. SW. or (b) where applicable, the KSA (knowledge, skills and attitude) route (e.g. with the BABCP).,
• Undertaken post-qualification further training in a specialised area of psychological practice e.g. neuropsychology, CBT, CAT, DBT, solution focused therapy, analytical therapy, systemic /family work etc.
• Leadership training.
• Experience delivering psychological therapies to patients with complex difficulties.
• Experience of working effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Application of evidenced based specialist psychological therapies relevant to the clinical service.
• Significant experience in relevant area of mental health practice., Experience applying specialist psychological therapy to patients who have complex difficulties.
• Involvement in innovative clinical practice.
