Job Overview
Priory Hospital Preston is recruiting a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team. This part‑time role is 22.5 hours per week, based on site.
Responsibilities
As Consultant Psychiatrist you will
- Assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans.
- Undertake routine tasks and activities to facilitate patient wellbeing, dignity and treatment.
- Take clinical responsibility for patients, including multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews, strategic reviews and the development of a therapeutic milieu.
- Serve as Responsible Clinician for patients detained under the Mental Health Act 1983.
- Supervise the referral and admission process and contribute to pre‑admission assessments of young people with the team.
- Provide a psychiatric perspective to the multidisciplinary team in relation to assessment, formulation and treatment of adults.
Qualifications
- GMC registration, including the relevant Specialist Register.
- CCST/CCT (or equivalent) in relevant areas of Psychiatry.
- Experience working in inpatient settings with individuals experiencing significant mental health difficulties.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills.
- Additional Requirements
- All roles are subject to a successful Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check or equivalent; Priory will cover the cost of the DBS check.
