Overview

The Pharmacy Team are looking for a Pharmacy Technician apprentice to join the team.

This is an excellent opportunity to undertake the Level 3 Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship, where you will learn a range of new knowledge, skills and behaviours.

You will work under the direction of registered Pharmacists to provide pharmaceutical care for patients.

The apprenticeship programme will be delivered by our external NHS approved training provider, with interactive workshops and a dedicated tutor to support you throughout the programme.

Responsibilities

  • Work under the direction of registered pharmacists to provide pharmaceutical care for patients.
  • Assist with medication dispensing, preparation and checking.
  • Maintain accurate medication records and inventory.
  • Attend interactive workshops and training sessions as part of the apprenticeship curriculum.
  • Support pharmacy operations and ensure safe and efficient service delivery.

Qualifications

  • Have to be 16 years old or over.
  • Have resided in the UK or EEA for at least the past 3 years.
  • Be able to produce evidence of Maths, English and Science GCSE (or equivalent) qualifications.
  • Not be in full‑time education at the point of starting the role.
  • Have not previously undertaken a Pharmacy qualification at level 3 or above.
  • Possess basic computer skills and the ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, use judgement and make decisions.
  • Have good communication skills and a professional attitude.
  • Be able to work alone and as part of a team.
  • Have dexterity and manipulation skills.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to study the Level 3 Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship, a keen interest in pharmacy and relevant work experience where possible.

Benefits

Apprenticeship length: 24 months.

In year 1, you will be paid at the national apprentice rate; in year 2, you will be paid at the age‑based guidance rates set by Government pay tables.

Existing staff may remain on current pay terms in accordance with Annex 30 of the Agenda for Change.
