Position Overview

Clinical Orthopaedic Fellow in Elbow/Shoulder Surgery, commencing 4th August 2027.

Location & Setting

The Orthopaedic and Trauma Department based in the two Major Teaching Hospitals in Cardiff, specifically the Cardiff Upper Limb Team at University Hospital Llandough.

The role serves a local population of 500,000 and provides tertiary referral services for 1.5 million people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform open and arthroscopic elbow and shoulder surgery, both elective and trauma cases.
  • Participate in ongoing and new research projects.
  • Coordinate the Upper Limb Multidisciplinary Team (MDT).
  • Work at specialist Registrar level and participate in the specialist Registrar on‑call rota at Llandough Hospital.

  • Achieved FRCS (Tr & Orth) qualification.
  • Planning to pursue a career in shoulder and elbow surgery.
