An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and enthusiastic Shoulder and Elbow Surgeon to join the expanding Trauma and Orthopaedic Service at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells Hospital. The post is for shoulder and elbow surgery. There will be an expectation to perform elective and trauma surgery, and provide specialist expertise in hip and knee trauma. Fracture and elective clinics are held in Tunbridge Wells, Maidstone and peripheral hospitals. Day surgery lists and inpatient elective lists occur in Maidstone, and trauma lists at Tunbridge Wells.

  • MB BS (or equivalent)
  • Registered with GMC
  • Completion of a post-CCT Shoulder and Elbow Fellowship
  • Possession of CCT / CESR, Evidence of leadership
  • Organisational ability
  • Able to take responsibility and cope with stressful situations
  • Able to get on with other members of the multi disciplinary team
  • Credibility and integrity
  • A sympathetic approach to patients and relatives
  • Ability to establish good professional relationships with others, Critical and enquiring approach to knowledge acquisition
  • To have undertaken a postgraduate communication skills course
