Orthopaedic Clinical Leader – Tunbridge Wells Hospital

Location

Tunbridge Wells Hospital, Theatre – Permanent, Full Time

Salary

Up to £52,500.00 per annum (dependent on experience)

Hours

37.5 hours per week

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the efficient running of the orthopaedic team and support/deputise for the Clinical Head of Department as required.
  • Coordinate activity and be responsible for patient care and safety.
  • Champion a supportive, enabling working culture on the ward, promoting staff safety and education.
  • Ensure a seamless and personalised patient experience.
  • Apply knowledge and skills in assessment, care planning and delivery.
  • Conduct and organise orthopaedic clinical activities within the theatre, managing theatre lists, booking forms and assisting sessions.
  • Work collaboratively and flexibly across theatre suites to accommodate service demands of Endoscopy, General, Orthopaedics, Gynae, ENT, Recovery and Anaesthetics departments.
  • Promote effective clinical risk management, governance, safety, risk management and quality improvement, and ensure policies and procedures to enhance patient care and service delivery.
  • Have extensive knowledge of audits and equipment and demonstrate understanding of surgical techniques and associated equipment.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Registered with the appropriate governing body.
  • Relevant qualifications and post‑registration experience in surgery/anaesthetics, including as a Registered Nurse or HCPC Registered Operating Department Practitioner.
  • Experience with SFA or SCP.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of running a smooth, effective department and essential equipment.
