Job Overview
An opportunity has arisen for a 34.5 hour post working within a busy Minor Injury Unit/Outpatient Department/Wards at Newquay Community Hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out minor injury treatments such as dressings, plastering, general observations and triage.
- Provide assistance to the MIU/OPD trained staff in planning, delivering, and evaluating care.
- Book patients and attend to their general needs in the OPD.
- Carry out all interventions to a high standard under the supervision of the trained MIU/OPD practitioners.
- Provide A&C support as needed to members of the team.
- Work under pressure in an emergency setting.
Qualifications & Experience
- GCSE Maths and English.
- NVQ Level 3 in Direct Care or equivalent qualification/experience.
- Previous experience as a Health Care Assistant within a hospital setting.
- Experience of working in an urgent care environment, outpatient department or ward environment.
- Willingness and ability to undertake further skills training, e.g. wound management and plaster cast application.
Additional Information
The role requires completed MIU skills/triage workbooks and a willingness to undertake additional training.
