About the role
We are seeking a registered pharmacist for a Band6 position at Milton Keynes University Hospital. The role involves providing patient‑centred care across a broad range of clinical specialties and progressing to Band7 upon successful completion of objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver ward‑based pharmaceutical care and provide clinical support to the dispensary.
- Engage in medicines optimisation and safety activities as part of the wider medicines management programme.
- Contribute to the pharmacy out‑of‑hours on‑call service following induction and training.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including Specialist Clinical Pharmacists and Principal Pharmacists.
- Participate in clinical audit work and contribute to service development and evaluation.
Qualifications and Experience
- B.Sc., B.Pharm., or M.Pharm and registration with the GPhC.
- Evidence of ongoing CPD in line with GPhC requirements.
- Postgraduate Certificate or Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy (or equivalent).
- Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society.
- Post‑registration experience in a hospital‑based clinical pharmacy setting.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary teams to provide patient care.
- Knowledge of medical management of disease across various specialties.
- Experience in clinical audit, medicines information, and influencing medicines use.
- Strong IT skills (computer literacy, word processing, spreadsheets).
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving, leadership, and team‑working skills.
- Ability to manage time, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
Working Hours
Standard working hours consist of four long days per week. Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays are worked on a rota basis. After induction you will contribute to the pharmacy out‑of‑hours on‑call service.
