Mental Health Pharmacist

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, and highly motivated pharmacist to join our friendly medicines management team as the Senior Mental Health Pharmacist for the East Hampshire area team. You will work with the Senior Physical Health Pharmacist and other pharmacists and pharmacy technicians who provide clinical pharmacy services to the Mental Health and Physical Health teams in East Hampshire supporting in-patient and community settings., To ensure the provision of a consistently high-quality, safe, responsive and patient focused pharmacy service for patients within inpatient and community settings. To support and implement the NHS Left Shift agenda by developing proactive, preventative and community based clinical pharmacy services that enhance patient outcomes, reduce hospital demand and improve continuity of care across inpatient and community settings. To lead on quality improvement projects for pharmacy alongside other senior pharmacists and HCPs. To co-ordinate medicine related audits. To support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in delivery of a clinical/operational service to inpatients and community teams. To provide specialist advice on pharmaceutical matters undertaking risk management and ensuring compliance with medicines legislation. To work with primary care and secondary providers to improve medicines management across the interface. To attend relevant meetings to present reports including data on quality, governance, finances and performance. To attend and contribute to the Trust's Senior Pharmacy Management meetings. To attend and contribute to the Trust's Medicines Management group as needed. To provide line management for pharmacists and/or pharmacy technicians To provide cover for other senior pharmacists and other pharmacy team members including at different locations across the Trust. Additional portfolio as agreed with the Chief Pharmacist., The post holder will lead and develop clinical pharmacy services within the local team's defined areas of responsibility including both community and inpatient workstreams. The post holder will focus on mental health on a day-to-day basis but will be able to lead in both areas. They will oversee the implementation and ongoing monitoring of the Trust's clinical pharmacy standards, ensuring that services are consistently high quality, safe, and patient centred. The role will involve proactively identifying service gaps and areas for improvement, using appropriate tools and methodologies--including quality improvement approaches--to drive service development and optimise patient outcomes. Ideally you will have experience in mental health pharmacy and working in secondary care services, but you may have transferrable skills from other areas of pharmacy. Full funding is available for post-graduate certificates and diplomas in clinical and psychiatric pharmacy, independent prescribing and attendance at conferences and courses such as those provided by the College of Mental Health Pharmacy.,

• Master of Pharmacy degree or equivalent
• General Pharmaceutical Council registered pharmacist.
• Postgraduate Diploma (or MSc) in Clinical Pharmacy Practice or equivalent experience., Significant post-registration experience working as a clinical pharmacist in the NHS.
• Proven experience of good performance in previous posts, where relevant
• Ability to recommend, substantiate and communicate medicine related information to, patients, carers and clinical staff appropriately
• Clinical Audit.
• Training of other staff.
• Staff management experience
• Setting objectives and appraisal techniques, Monitoring and advising on drug expenditure
• Set up and /or run a service
• Providing teaching sessions to pharmacy and other staff
