We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our busy, friendly, forward‑thinking team for 30 hours per week, working over 4 days (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday) to cover maternity leave. Essential skills include good communication, an excellent telephone manner, willingness to learn, and the ability to use one's own initiative.
Responsibilities
- Speak with patients face‑to‑face or over the phone and help them with their requests.
- Signpost patients to the appropriate healthcare professional within the practice or related service such as Pharmacy First and Minor Injuries Unit.
- Offer general assistance to the practice team and project a positive, friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via phone.
- Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
- Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice.
- Provide clerical support to clinical staff and other members of the practice team when necessary.
- Facilitate effective communication between patients, members of the primary healthcare team, secondary care and other associated healthcare agencies.
Qualifications
- GCSE grade A to C in English.
- Experience in a Customer Service or Reception based role.
- Experience of working in a primary care setting.
- Experience of working in a GP practice.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good organisation skills.
- Good IT skills.
