Overview

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our teams as a Ward Clerk. Two posts available:

  • Melton Community Hospital — 22.5 hours to be worked over three days (Monday to Sunday).
  • Loughborough Community Hospital — 30 hours to be worked over four days (Monday to Sunday), covering two wards.

The rota covers 08:00–16:00, so shifts are during these times. Ward Clerks are a vital part of our inpatient multi-disciplinary teams and are often the first point of contact for visitors, relatives and external clinicians. You will be responsible for providing an excellent first impression.

Responsibilities

  • Be first point of contact for relatives and carers, answering telephone calls with patience and understanding.
  • Provide day-to-day administrative and clerical support to the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Support staff to maintain excellent standards of record keeping; ensure admissions and discharges are recorded correctly.
  • Answer queries from visitors to the ward including professionals; signpost to other staff as required.
  • Exposure to distressing or emotional circumstances may occur indirectly.

Qualifications/Skills

  • Highly organised with excellent communication skills; enjoy working with people.
