Job Overview Located at PRUH and south sites, this 12‑month fixed‑term locum Consultant position focuses on enhancing Acute Radiology and Rapid Diagnostic Clinic services and supporting general radiology workloads.

The role is part of a multidisciplinary team and involves teaching, training and participation in service development.

A special interest in cardiothoracic and musculoskeletal diagnostic imaging is preferred.

Key Responsibilities Provide high‑quality care to patients, including all aspects of treatment and relevant management duties for the Care Group.

Share responsibility with colleagues for 24‑hour, 7‑day cover on a rota basis, including covering annual leave and short‑term sickness.

Supervise junior medical/dental practitioners and provide clinical supervision alongside other consultants.

Carry out teaching, examination and accreditation duties, contributing to CPD and clinical governance initiatives.

Attend outpatient clinic commitments in peripheral hospitals as agreed with the Care Group management team.

Contribute to research interests in line with the Trust’s R direct experience across all aspects of radiology.

Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) by GMC or equivalent Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR).

Strong background in cardiothoracic and musculoskeletal imaging preferred.

Experience in day‑to‑day organisation of radiology services in a busy teaching hospital.

Proficiency with PACS and information technology, including e‑radiology and home‑reporting solutions.

Experience in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, exam preparation, and supervision.

Proven audit experience with completed audit projects.

Clinical research experience with published review articles or case reports.

Demonstrated leadership within multidisciplinary teams and understanding of UK NHS structures.
