Overview We are recruiting for a Locum Consultant in General Medicine who shares our passion to ensure patients receive quality and compassionate care and help the Trust continue its journey towards "great people, great place".

Responsibilities Diagnose and treat illness for general medical in-patients.

Cover the general medical emergency on-call rota with a reduced frequency of 1:11 weekdays.

Be available for on-call duties between 22:00 and 08:00 for advice and to come in if required.

Participate in evening and morning weekday ward rounds (Acute Physicians handle them).

Take part in Acute and GIM weekend rounds as per the job plan.

Qualifications MBBS or equivalent.

Membership with the relevant Royal College for the speciality.

GMC registration and license to practice.

Entry on the GMC Specialist Register in Geriatrics and general medicine via a.

CCT (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview), b.

CESR, or c.

European Community rights.

Completed a recognised training programme in General Internal Medicine.

Demonstrate a high level of clinical experience and competence in GIM and IT skills.

Experience and Skills Experience of teaching and training undergraduate, postgraduate and junior medical staff.

Knowledge and understanding of current NHS issues.

Ability to develop services.

Energy, enthusiasm and ability to work under pressure.

An enquiring and critical approach to work.

Caring attitude towards patients.

Effective communication with colleagues, patients, relatives, GPs, nurses and other staff and agencies.

Commitment to continuing medical education and professional development.
