Job Overview

AGH Solutions, a subsidiary of Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, is seeking a maintenance technician to work independently on a variety of building maintenance tasks across Trust properties.

Responsibilities

  • Lighting checks
  • Replacement of lighting tubes or bulbs
  • Cleaning diffusers
  • Fixing of notice boards, clocks, and notices
  • Replacement of damaged ceiling tiles
  • Cleaning extract fans and ventilation grilles
  • Replacement or re‑fixing of toilet seats
  • Replacement or re‑fixing of hand/safety rails
  • Inspection and first‑aid repairs to flooring
  • Re‑washing hot and cold water taps
  • Temperature checks of water services
  • Care of curtain tracks, blinds, and similar items

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Good standard of secondary education to GCSE level or better in Maths, English and Craft Studies.
  • Recent relevant experience working within a maintenance function aimed at ensuring the quality and standard of the built environment.
  • Ability to substantiate at interview knowledge and experience in routine maintenance of building services and other related experience claimed in the application.
  • Previous experience in a hospital, healthcare or care home environment.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements in the workplace and application to tasks and situations.
  • Knowledge of safe use of portable tools and access equipment and modern fixing techniques.
  • Flexible approach to problem solving and broad knowledge of work requirements and patterns of other trades.
  • Initiative to resolve situations to a satisfactory conclusion.
  • Capability to work independently with minimum supervision or as part of a team.
  • Clean driving licence for a four‑wheelled vehicle and ability to drive to other Trust properties when required.
