Are you an experienced Speech and Language Therapist with a passion for leadership, service development and managing high-performing teams? We are seeking a Clinical Service Manager to provide operational and professional leadership for our Head and Neck Cancer and ENT pathways, while contributing to the leadership and strategic development of the wider Adult Speech and Language Therapy Service. This is an exciting opportunity to lead service development, workforce planning, quality improvement and innovation within one of the largest teaching hospital trusts in the UK. Working closely with clinical leads, multidisciplinary teams and senior leaders, you will play a key role in shaping future services, supporting staff development and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care., Provide operational management, leadership and support to a team of staff within the specialist area(s). Lead on strategic development, operational policy and pathways within the specialist area(s) for the Trust. Contribute to the strategic planning and service development within the wider SLT department. Provide highly specialist SLT care to patients. Lead in aspects of clinical training of SLTs, student SLTs and other healthcare professionals. Rather than focusing on direct clinical delivery, this role offers the opportunity to shape the future of Head and Neck Cancer and ENT services through strategic leadership, workforce development, service transformation and quality improvement.

As a Clinical Service Manager, you will work alongside experienced clinical leads and multidisciplinary teams to ensure services remain responsive, sustainable and patient-centred. You will have the opportunity to lead change, support staff development, contribute to organisational priorities and influence service delivery across the wider Adult Speech and Language Therapy Service.

The role is ideally suited to an experienced Speech and Language Therapy leader who is motivated by developing people, improving services and making a lasting impact on patient care through effective leadership.

What you will bring to the role

The post holder will provide operational and professional leadership across the Head and Neck Cancer and ENT Speech and Language Therapy pathways, whilst contributing to the management and development of the wider Adult Speech and Language Therapy Service.

The role will focus on strategic and operational leadership, including workforce planning, service improvement, quality and governance, recruitment and retention, financial management and delivery of service objectives. The successful candidate will work closely with pathway clinical leads and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective and sustainable services and will contribute to wider departmental and organisational priorities.

Applicants should demonstrate advanced knowledge and understanding of Speech and Language Therapy practice together with significant leadership and management experience. While knowledge of Head and Neck Cancer and ENT services would be advantageous, we welcome applications from candidates with transferable leadership skills and experience of managing services within Speech and Language Therapy.
