Care & Support Worker
We are seeking a confident Care & Support Worker with a passion for delivering outstanding healthcare.
The role is full‑time, 42 hours per week, 12‑hour shifts, nights only, with a two‑week rotating rota that includes alternate weekends (four shifts week one, three shifts week two).
The position is located at Kirkside Lodge, a specialist residential service for adults with learning disabilities and associated complex needs.
The vacancy is opened to female applicants only due to a genuine occupational need. We welcome applications from all individuals who meet this requirement.
Key Responsibilities
- Offer enhanced care with a flexible learning approach for all residents.
- Provide guidance and encouragement through physical & emotional support.
- Learn about individual needs and deliver tailored assistance.
- Assist with and report on medical and welfare needs.
- Safeguard residents and maintain a safe, clean environment.
- Support residents in accessing the community, attending work, college, hobbies, activities, days out and holidays.
- Engage residents in tasks such as cooking and cleaning to promote independence and personal development.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience in a care setting, preferably with adults with learning disabilities or complex needs.
- Excellent communication skills and a team‑player attitude.
- Empathetic, sensitive, and intuitive, with the energy to provide a trusting, stimulating and varied environment.
- Ability to empower and support service‑user independence.
- Enhanced DBS check – successful candidates will be required to undergo this.
- Salary & Benefits
- Salary: £13.15 per hour, rising to £13.45 after three months (£29,435.70 first year), and to £13.70 after 18 months.
- Flexible working with opportunity for overtime.
