Job Summary

Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist looking to take the next step in your career and be part of meaningful change?

Join the team at Farmfield Hospital as a Lead Occupational Therapist.

You will work with adult men (18+) who may have a forensic background and enduring mental health illnesses such as personality disorder, substance misuse issues and challenging behaviours.

Your role will involve managing a complex caseload and implementing evidence‑based, people‑focused interventions to support service users in developing self‑maintenance, productivity and leisure skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate fully with the multidisciplinary team and encourage service users to be fully engaged in their care pathway.
  • Manage and coordinate the implementation of individual treatment plans, ensuring interventions are delivered through effective application and communication.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records detailing each patient's rehabilitation and progress.
  • Effectively manage junior staff.
  • Support clinical team working, including direct interventions and delivery of staff training programmes.
  • Receive and respond promptly to referrals, undertake patient assessments, prioritise needs and plan appropriate interventions individually or in groups.
  • Develop living skills, rehabilitation, and educational opportunities/therapies.

Qualifications

  • Qualified and registered as an Occupational Therapist.
  • At least 3 years post‑qualifying experience.
  • Experience in assessing people with a variety of psychometric and risk assessment tools.
  • Ability to work therapeutically, engaging people in developing insight and coping skills to manage complex needs.
  • Experience in supervising and managing junior members of the team.
  • A full and clean UK driving licence.
  • All candidates will be subject to a DBS disclosure.
