About the role
Become a Bank Healthcare Assistant within the Elysium Healthcare staff bank at Ann House in Kendal.
After a two‑week paid induction you will have access to shifts on a zero‑hour contract – there is no minimum hours requirement, but frequent work is encouraged to maintain induction knowledge.
Shifts are 12.5‑hour rotations, available weekdays, nights, and weekends, and can be booked easily through an app.
- What you’ll be doing
- Provide direct care to adults with learning disabilities and autism, supporting their independence and quality of life.
- Maintain personal hygiene, nutrition and safety for service users.
- Record and report care activities and changes in condition accurately.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of service users, following Elysium’s safeguarding policies.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to plan and deliver care plans.
- Support people to participate in work, training, leisure and community activities.
- Adapt to a challenging and dynamic environment, remaining calm, compassionate and vigilant.
- What you need
- Prior experience as a Healthcare Assistant, Support Worker or Care Worker.
- Good interpersonal skills, resilience and a positive attitude.
- Willingness to undertake DBS disclosure, mandatory training and safeguarding courses.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
- Commitment to supporting people with learning disabilities and autism in a structured, least restrictive setting.
