Imaging Assistant β Breast Diagnostics
We are looking for a motivated and experienced Imaging Assistant to join the Breast diagnostics Team at Barts Health, assisting Radiologists and Radiographers within Breast Imaging.
As this position is subject to a Genuine Occupational Requirement under the Equality Act 2010, it is open to female applicants only.
Responsibilities
- Organise ultrasound sessions, call patients and check identification.
- Explain procedures and answer patient questions.
- Assist the Radiologist/Radiographer during examinations and procedures, including aseptic technique.
- Deliver the highest level of patient care.
- Assist on reception when required.
- Monitor stock levels.
Qualifications & Experience
- Knowledge of assistant diagnostics practices within NHS service.
- Experience working in a healthcare and confidential setting.
- Experience working in a clinical environment and with infection control practices.
- Knowledge of imaging processes, medical terminology and hospital databases.
- Strong organisational and efficient work habits.
- Attention to detail and keyboard skills.
- Ability to prioritise a busy work schedule and communicate effectively with patients, doctors and team members.
- Ability to maintain accurate records, including inputting information into PCs.
- Experience dealing with stressful and emotionally charged situations for prolonged periods.
- Graduated level (RQF Level 6 or above) or equivalent.
- English proficiency at CEFR level B2 or higher.
- Minimum of five GCSE passes at grades AβC or equivalent, NVQ or equivalent in Health Studies, and a Care Certificate.
