Overview
Pineheath Ward provides rehabilitation to patients with varying complexities of need.
Nursing, therapy and medical staff specialise in supporting patients to achieve their goals, enabling them to return home.
The 24-bed unit is based near Holt in Norfolk and also provides palliative and end of life care.
Responsibilities
- Be responsible for the delivery and co-ordination of care to a named group of patients.
- Work effectively as a member of the multi-disciplinary team.
- Work proactively within the team to achieve unit and trust goals and objectives.
- Work with and promote recognised policies, protocols and guidelines.
- Working Hours
The working day is split into two 11.5 hour shifts, a night from 19:00 to 07:30 and a day from 07:00 to 19:30.
The shifts are rostered on a rotational basis across seven days including bank holidays.
Flexible working is offered from the first day of employment.
- Training and Development
- Opportunities to learn new skills such as venepuncture, male and female catheterisation, PEG feeding and ECG recording.
- Support and development through in-service training, annual appraisals, a personal development plan and regular clinical supervision.
Qualifications and Experience
- Registered Nurse on the appropriate part of the NMC Register.
- Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Experience of working with patients with multiple pathologies and developing and delivering care plans designed to meet their needs.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to maintain and improve standards of care.
- Experience of audit and audit research.
- Up-to-date knowledge of current clinical/professional issues.
- Understanding of resource management and learner needs.
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal English.
- Evidence of relevant experience and development.
- Support junior staff, self-awareness, flexible/positive approach to work, enthusiasm and ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Commitment to safeguarding vulnerable adults, children and young people and to respect patients' privacy and dignity.
