Overview
We are seeking a passionate, innovative, and skilled Band 7 Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic paediatric team.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage a highly complex paediatric caseload (0‑18 years) using specialist knowledge in assessment, intervention, and functional outcomes.
- Provide client‑centred therapy that considers cultural, socio‑economic, and ethnic factors within a diverse inner‑city environment.
- Lead clinical quality improvement and audit activities in line with RCOT guidance, SEND reforms, and the Experts at Hand model.
- Deputise for the Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist and contribute to leadership decisions for the Children’s OT Service.
- Supervise and develop junior staff, facilitate training programmes, and share best practice.
- Collaborate with multi‑agency teams, maintaining effective communication with families and professional stakeholders.
- Leadership & Development
- Work within the Band 7 Leadership Team to shape paediatric therapy services.
- Lead professional development programmes for the OT and OTA teams.
- Planned protected service‑development time and facilitate regular team away days.
- Support the implementation of new and innovative ways of working while ensuring client needs are met.
Qualifications & Experience
- Qualified Occupational Therapist with a post‑graduate degree or equivalent, and a Health Professions Council licence to practice.
- Minimum 4–5 years of post‑graduate experience, with evidence of core OT competencies in paediatrics.
- Demonstrable experience working with complex paediatric cases, including neuro‑developmental and multisystem conditions.
- Extensive knowledge of upper‑limb splinting, postural management, neurodiversity, EHCP, and complex needs planning.
- Excellent interpersonal, listening, empathy, and conflict‑management skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage a mixed caseload, meet deadlines, and maintain a high standard of work.
