Sexual Offence Examiner
Location
The Humberside SARC (additional locations: South Yorkshire SARC, West Yorkshire SARC, North Yorkshire SARC).
Hours & Salary
Hours: 24 hours per week, shifts between 9am-9pm, Monday to Sunday. Salary: £45,615.20 FTE based on 42 hours per week (£20.83 per hour).
Key Responsibilities
- Forensic examinations and obtaining forensic exhibits
- Develop forensic strategies according to FFLM guidelines
- Actively work in partnership with external MDTs and Police
- Act as 1st point of contact for victims, Police and Social Services to discuss referral pathways
- Manage and promote the self‑referral pathway
- Undertake holistic assessments including sexual health, mental health and safeguarding
- Produce individual management plans
- Support continued quality improvement of the service
- Work under the Forensic Science Regulator requirements and obtain consent for health and forensic procedures
Qualifications
- Qualified Registered Nurse, Midwife or Paramedic
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant post‑qualification experience
- Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding children and adults
- Knowledge and understanding of confidentiality
- Phlebotomy skills
- Experience of autonomous working
Additional Requirements
- UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (travel may be required across SARC sites)
- Advanced DBS and level 2 Police vetting required
