Job Title

Sexual Offence Examiner

Location

The Humberside SARC (additional locations: South Yorkshire SARC, West Yorkshire SARC, North Yorkshire SARC).

Hours & Salary

Hours: 24 hours per week, shifts between 9am-9pm, Monday to Sunday. Salary: £45,615.20 FTE based on 42 hours per week (£20.83 per hour).

Key Responsibilities

  • Forensic examinations and obtaining forensic exhibits
  • Develop forensic strategies according to FFLM guidelines
  • Actively work in partnership with external MDTs and Police
  • Act as 1st point of contact for victims, Police and Social Services to discuss referral pathways
  • Manage and promote the self‑referral pathway
  • Undertake holistic assessments including sexual health, mental health and safeguarding
  • Produce individual management plans
  • Support continued quality improvement of the service
  • Work under the Forensic Science Regulator requirements and obtain consent for health and forensic procedures

Qualifications

  • Qualified Registered Nurse, Midwife or Paramedic
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant post‑qualification experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding children and adults
  • Knowledge and understanding of confidentiality
  • Phlebotomy skills
  • Experience of autonomous working

Additional Requirements

  • UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (travel may be required across SARC sites)
  • Advanced DBS and level 2 Police vetting required
