An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, passionate Occupational Therapist to join our Occupational Therapy Team in Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr.
The post holder will deliver a range of occupationally focussed assessments and interventions and will join a small and friendly team based in YYF.
The team is part of the acute and trauma OT service within ABUHB.
The post offers opportunity to deliver a wide variety of assessments and interventions with patients both in a hospital setting as well as in the patients own home after discharge.
There will be opportunity to support patients with a wide range of conditions and a variety of complexity.
Interventions include assessment and provision of moving and handling equipment and inpatient rehabilitation with a focus on rapid discharge planning using a discharge to assess model where appropriate.
Responsibilities
Occupational Therapy is a highly regarded service as part of the multidisciplinary approach in YYF.
This is a fast paced environment that will require the applicant to have good organisational skills and to be flexible to changing demands.
Qualifications and Skills
- HCPC registration
- Clinical educator course
- Appropriate clinical experience
- Knowledge and understanding of role
- Experience of managing complex clinical situations
- Experience of working as part of a team
- Awareness of clinical governance
- Evidence of supervising others
- Welsh Speaker (Level 1) or willingness to work towards
- Significant clinical experience relevant to post
- Supervision experience of junior staff or students Experience of working autonomously and setting own priorities
- Post-graduate experience of working in a rehabilitation setting
- Ability to travel between sites / patients residences in a timely manner
- Ability to work flexibly and respond to unpredictable work demands
