Role based at Royal Wolverhampton New Cross site, reporting to the Group Deputy Director of Procurement within the NMBC.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the commercial contract management activity across Black Country Integrated Care System trusts, supporting the Group Deputy Director of Procurement and Commercial Contract Management.
  • Develop and deliver the Trusts’ commercial contract management work programme, formulating plans and priorities that align with relevant clinical settings, national work programmes, and operating frameworks.
  • Prepare detailed commercial contract management work plans reflecting each Trust’s strategic objectives, integrating local and national quality and efficiency agendas.
  • Provide commercial contract management direction and decision‑making based on evidence‑based practice to senior decision makers within the provider Trusts.
  • Support one‑off key local, national and regional projects and deliver complex projects, savings initiatives and policy development to enhance patient care and reduce costs.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Significant senior leadership/management experience in a highly developed environment where influence and stewardship are essential.
  • Proven contribution to the development of organisational business plans, procurement or service development programmes.
  • Full member status of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) and/or a master’s degree in procurement or related field.
  • Leadership or management qualification, or equivalent experience in managing staff and resources.
  • Evidence of professional updating in contract management, project management and supply chain practices.
  • Deep understanding of NHS procurement legislation, EU directives and industry marketplace dynamics.
  • Strong analytical skills to undertake data collection, input, analysis, audit, and evaluation to inform autonomous decision making.
