Responsibilities

  • Working with senior clinicians, operational leaders and system partners to develop and deliver transformation plans.
  • Establishing effective governance arrangements.
  • Monitoring performance against national and local targets.
  • Ensuring benefits are realised.
  • Engaging stakeholders and influencing across organisational boundaries to implement sustainable change that improves patient experience and outcomes across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

Qualifications

  • Educated to master's level or equivalent experience at a senior level in a clinical setting responsible for multiple tumour pathways and care.
  • Extensive knowledge of specialist areas, acquired through postgraduate diploma or equivalent training to master's level.
  • Extensive knowledge of cancer pathways across multiple tumour pathways, including understanding of challenges, variation, national standards and best practice.
  • Significant cancer-specific experience of acute services leadership at a senior level.
  • Experience in system-level strategic planning, including cancer-specific trajectory setting.
  • Experience managing multi-million-pound budgets.
  • Extensive experience in programme and portfolio delivery.
  • Evidence of effectively delivering change without contractual levers.
  • Demonstrable evidence of WCA values: Courage, Accountability, Kindness and Equity.
  • Flexibility to work within tight deadlines on high-stakes outcomes.
  • Advanced and effective communication skills in written, verbal and technical fields.
  • Competent in analytical techniques including informatics (e.g. pathway analyser), system data interpretation, research and evidence review and application of alternative models of care.
