To provide a specialist nursing service within the community setting for patients requiring haematology and oncology specific care and management of on going treatment, including deliver of systemic anti-cancer therapies (SACT). Be an autonomous practitioner and have the freedom to act to influence patient care and service provision, under the guidance of the Band 7. Promote best practice and delivering coordinated quality cancer care to patients and their families., Please refer to the attached job description for full details of the main responsibilities and description of the job.
- Current NMC registration
- Degree in adult nursing
- Completion of UKONS SACT passport and evidence of competence, psychological skills
- advanced communication skills
- post graduate diploma or MSc in relevant field, post reg clinical experience in oncology and haematology
- experience of working in a multi professional environment
- experience of managing treatment related side effects of SACT
- able to manage own workload, band 5 experience in speciality
- experience working as a community nurse
- physical assessment skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills

- computer / IT skills, knowledge of caring for patients within the cancer setting
