Overview
The Bristol Sanctuary service offers short‑term support to clients dealing with episodes of emotional distress.
The service focuses on supporting self‑management through discussion of tools and the creation of Wellness Action Plans.
Support is provided for managing suicidal ideation, anxiety, depression, low mood, social isolation and sleep hygiene, with signposting for housing, debt, health problems, drugs and alcohol use, substance misuse and unemployment.
Responsibilities
- Work alongside Recovery Navigators and Case Workers to provide support via telephone, virtual and in‑person meetings.
- Carry out needs and risk assessments and maintain client records within specific timeframes.
- Take a holistic, recovery‑oriented and psychologically informed approach.
- Manage risk and escalated referrals for clients requiring specialist support.
- Co‑produce, implement and review recovery plans, crisis plans and self‑management tools such as the Wellness Recovery Action Plan.
- Deliver services warmly and welcomingly, building trusting relationships and ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, values, code of conduct and legislation.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of two years significant experience working with people with mental health or complex needs.
- Proven experience with multiple needs, including mental health, homelessness, alcohol/drug dependency and long‑term conditions.
- Experience in carrying out needs and/or risk assessments and the support‑planning process.
- Experience working with individuals who have competing needs and priorities.
- Experience with mental health issues and/or services, either as a user, carer or supporter.
