Consultant Radiologist – Head and Neck Imaging (or other specialties considered) Overview The Radiology department at the Princess Alexandra Hospital is seeking a Consultant Radiologist with a sub‑specialty interest in Head and Neck Imaging.
The role involves 10 paid appointment hours per week, plus an on‑call appointment, supporting a busy and diverse Imaging service and developing the area of special interest.
Responsibilities Support the busy Imaging service and contribute to service development.
Pursue opportunities to expand the Head and Neck service.
Participate in multi‑disciplinary meetings and teach Radiology registrars.
Provide clinical audit and quality improvement activities.
Engage in curriculum development and educational leadership.
Contribute to clinical research and publication in peer‑reviewed journals.
Maintain effective clinical supervision of resident doctors and medical students.
Qualifications and Experience GMC registration with a valid licence to practise.
CCT (or equivalent) in relevant specialty, or within six months of achieving.
Sub‑specialty training aligned with service needs.
Higher degree (e. g., MD, Ph D) or additional postgraduate qualifications.
Formal teaching qualification (e. g., PGCert in Medical Education).
Broad and relevant clinical experience in the specialty.
Experience in teaching and supervising resident doctors and medical students.
Experience in service development or redesign.
Experience in curriculum development or educational leadership.
Publications in peer‑reviewed journals and involvement in clinical research or trials.
Previous experience working in the NHS or a similar healthcare system.
Location Based primarily at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow; may be required to work at St.
Margarets in Epping or Herts
