This post, based within the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department of the University Dental Hospital will be offered on a fixed term basis. This is a full shift post based within a busy unit offering wide experience in all aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery.

The University Dental Hospital (UDH) is the only dental teaching hospital in Wales and is on the same site as the University Hospital of Wales (UHW). This hospital is a large teaching hospital with 968 beds and provides a full range of services including Accident and Emergency, Neurosurgery and a large Intensive Care facility, and also includes the Major Trauma Centre for Wales.

This fixed term post will commence on 3rd September 2025 until 1st September 2026. This full shift post offers a wide experience in all aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery, including:

  • orthognathic surgery
  • maxillofacial injuries
  • oro-facial cancer
  • disorders of the TMJ
  • salivary gland disease
  • dentoalveolar surgery

Individuals will be required to undertake work within the A&E department as well as working in the wards, theatres and within the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery department assisting in Consultant clinics, Oral Surgery Casuals, and the Same Day Emergency Care clinics.
