Position Overview The Haematology Service is recruiting a full‑time Consultant to expand the existing department.

The appointee will share duties with four senior consultants, supervise two Registrars, a middle‑grade doctor, three junior doctors, and collaborate with specialist haematology nurses and the acute oncology nursing service.

Key Responsibilities Provide clinical care to haematology patients in hospital and community settings.

Supervise non‑consultant grade medical colleagues and specialist nurses.

Lead and develop haematology services, including educational activities.

Participate in the management team to implement the clinical care strategy.

Contribute to the on‑call rota (1:5 weekly).

Conduct two malignant clinics and 18 non‑malignant clinics per year.

Collaborate with external partners such as Guys non‑UK‑trained doctors must provide evidence of equivalence and a GMC licence.

Clinical skills across all aspects of haematology, including emergencies and transplant patients.

Experience leading multidisciplinary teams at senior level.

Evidence of effective clinical leadership, service innovation, and NHS management understanding.

Strong written and verbal communication, ability to build rapport, negotiate and apply logical/scientific thinking.

Demonstrated respect and understanding for patients as individuals.

Checks and Regulations Disclosure and Barring Service Check required.

The role falls under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.
